AMITY was established to provide fresh meat to the Greater Washington, DC, area. Our market analysis has determined that most of the "fresh" meat available in this area consists of imports of frozen meat from other parts of the country, as well as from various South American countries. Therefore, it is not really "fresh." AMITY plans to overcome this by importing livestock from Columbia and making arrangements to purchase or lease sufficient farm land for raising and slaughtering its own livestock.

We evaluated the possibility of opening a butcher shop in the Greater Washington, DC, area to distribute a range of truly fresh meat to the local market. After an in-depth market analysis, contacted several farms to ascertain their interest in producing and offering truly fresh meat as a wholesaler to restaurants, hotels, and other businesses.
